Janaea Rose Lyn (McAlee) is a modern dancer, choreographer, educator and mentor. Her artistic focus is on creating and facilitating work that brings personal stories to life through collaborative movement exploration. At this career stage she is active as a mentor for the next generation of dance artists, helping them to choreograph their careers and dance their best lives.

Her recent book, Choreographing Your Dance Career, was featured in Dance Teacher magazine. It is a handbook and resource which emerged from her own decades-long professional career. As an advocate, she is committed to strengthening dance communities by fostering dialogue through conversations about the book's content and by providing choreographic and career feedback with the goal of connecting artists and encouraging the creative exchange of ideas and opportunities.​​

Founder and faculty member of two associate degree dance programs, Janaea has published articles, and presented at educational conferences on her inclusive approach to dance and performing arts pedagogy.  Prior to this she was the artistic Director of Convergence Dancers & Musicians and Dance Matrix presenting work nationally and internationally for two decades.
